    PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT AT BROADGREEN

Intermediate education is often viewed as a transitional time for students as they move from primary to secondary education. The two-year time frame is short and students develop physically and socially quickly. Often intermediate is viewed by many parents and students as a time of increasing independence and therefore less direct parental involvement with the school. Below is a list of possible opportunities that I encourage you to consider as ways of participating in the ‘life’ of BroadgreenIntermediateSchool. Your service and contributions are appreciated.

I would remind you that you don’t have to wait until 3 Way Conferences (parent interviews) to meet with your child’s teacher to share information about their learning. You can make contact with the school anytime throughout the year to negotiate a mutually suitable time.

Room 13 has just been on camp. It was a lot better then we expected. We were all packed and ready for rain but to our surprise, the sun shone and the weather was perfect. Absolutely perfect. Camp was full of challenges, abseiling, kayaking, spotlight and the challenge of getting to know your classmates. There was nobody who didn’t learn something. Along with that there is something that must never be overlooked, the food was delicious and there was lots of it! All in all, camp was an exciting experience and an opportunity for our new older teacher to get to know us. A big thank you to Mr J and to the fantastic team of parents who helped.
